The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce (@BrooklynChamber) is taking a giant tech leap forward in announcing the soon-to-be-launched mobile app made specifically for entrepreneurs to connect with each other and to stay informed on business opportunities, city-support for businesses and events. It’s enough to make an entrepreneur drool if it lives up to its vision!
According to The Daily News the app was built 100% with business owners in mind:
The Brooklyn app will give Chamber of Commerce members quick access to one an other, plugging them into networking events. They’ll get exposure to consumers who download it as a Brooklyn search tool.
In coming weeks, the app’s info base will be broadened by hookups with business improvement districts, merchants associations and the borough’s tourism website. The download’s designer made an app last summer for state Sen. Eric Adams (D-Flatbush).
The app will be available for down now but only for Android (they’re still awaiting approval from APPLE for them to launch the iPhone version — look for it early next year). Read more about the announcement at The Daily News HERE.
It’s worth considering becoming a member of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. Below is a recent video interview with the new President CEO of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Carlo Scissura who discusses the major changes and opportunities for businesses (particularly in underserved neighborhoods) in Brooklyn (the interview starts at 5:56). Scissura even touches on the borough’s aggressive initiative to offer affordable healthcare to solo-entrepreneurs (launching in a few months). Scissura ends his interview with “It’s an exciting time to be in business in Brooklyn.” Can’t argue with that.
